Les escribimos para compartirles una serie de novedades del Buscador. Durante estos meses, tanto José Urzúa (.CL) como los colegas del .UY (Javier Coirolo, José Lombardi, Diego Bastiani, Freddy Hernandez y Gonzalo Diharce) han estado trabajando de manera dedicada y cooperativa para mantener y mejorar la operación del servicio.
En primer lugar, el equipo del .UY ha realizado mejoras en la aplicación CAS (cctld-availability-service), que han permitido superar algunos errores que generaban respuestas fallidas ante consultas del BUD. Esta aplicación es la que actualmente usan 8 ccTLD integrados y esperamos que dichas mejoras realizadas en .UY permitan dejar atrás algunos errores en las búsquedas. Para ello, les compartimos un video con la guía de instalación de la nueva versión del CAS. La guía de instalación comienza con la descarga de la nueva versión de CAS, que se debe descargar desde: https://buscador.lactld.org/CAS/cctld-availability-service-1.1.zip con las siguientes credenciales:
usuario: lactld
contraseña: casbuscador
En segundo lugar, y en consecuencia de la disponibilización de la nueva versión del CAS, en los próximos días se habilitará el reporte de errores, que se trata de una nueva funcionalidad que genera un correo electrónico informando los errores detectados en la comunicación con los ccTLD integrados, es decir, las consultas fallidas. De esta manera, comenzará a generar reportes cada 12 horas, con los cuales esperamos ir evaluando su desempeño con el Comité del Buscador, para incluir los cambios que corresponda.
En tercer y último lugar, luego de la aprobación del Consejo Directivo, hemos contratado un nuevo servidor (en Linode también) para el Buscador Unificado de Dominios. Este paso fundamental permitirá dar el tan esperado salto de la versión beta a producción. El .UY estará a cargo de la administración de este nuevo servidor. Además, gracias a los aportes del .HN, contaremos con un certificado digital de sitio web.

We are writing to share with you a series of news from the Search Engine. During these months, both José Urzúa (.CL) and .UY colleagues (Javier Coirolo, José Lombardi, Diego Bastiani, Freddy Hernandez and Gonzalo Diharce) have been working in a dedicated and cooperative manner to maintain and improve the operation of the service.
First of all, the .UY team has made improvements to the CAS (cctld-availability-service) application, which have overcome some errors that generated failed responses to Search Engine queries. This application is currently used by 8 integrated ccTLDs and we hope that these improvements made in .UY will allow us to leave behind some errors in the searches. To this end, we share with you a video with the installation guide of the new CAS version. Secondly, and as a consequence of the availability of the new CAS version, in the next few days the error reporting will be enabled, which is a new functionality that generates an email informing the errors detected in the communication with the integrated ccTLDs, that is, the failed queries. In this way, it will begin to generate reports every 12 hours, with which we hope to evaluate its performance with the Search Engine Committee, in order to include the appropriate changes.
Third and finally, after the approval of the Board of Directors, we have hired a new server (also at Linode) for the Unified Search Engine. This fundamental step will allow us to make the long awaited leap from beta to production. The .UY will be in charge of the administration of this new server. In addition, thanks to the contributions of .HN, we will have a digital website certificate.
